Warm, practical talks on neurodivergence & mental health
Hi, I’m Pooky. I’m autistic, PhD qualified, and mum to neurodivergent daughters. I turn what the research says into training that’s warm, funny and useful.
Two things run through everything I do: empathy and empowerment. I want you to understand the people you’re supporting more deeply, and to leave able to do something differently. So whether I’ve got ten minutes or a whole day, you’ll go away with practical, low or no cost ideas you can try straight away. A lot of what I share comes from the young people, families and staff I learn from all the time, and young people’s voices matter to me most of all.
Ready to talk? Email me at [email protected] with as much as you know: rough dates, your audience, anything you’re hoping for. Not sure yet? Get in touch anyway and I’ll help you shape it.
How I work
Audience: School and college leaders, teachers, SENDCOs and teaching assistants, health and social care teams, parent and carer groups, and workplaces. Don’t see yourself here? I adapt to a wide range of audiences, just ask.
Location: Anywhere in the UK, or internationally with a little notice.
Dates: I’ll hold provisional dates while we talk. INSET days book up early, so get in touch in good time.
Duration: Usually 90 minutes, though I’ve done everything from 15 minutes to five days. We’ll find what suits your audience and budget.
Format: Face-to-face or online, any size of group. Keynotes are what I’m asked for most, but I also run workshops when you want to go deeper.
Topics I’m asked for most

Try a session before you book
Want a feel for how I work first? Use code SPEAKING for free access to Behaviour as Communication. Prefer a different one? Have a look at my individual on-demand sessions, email me which you’d like and I’ll set it up.
What happens when you book
You email me, and I’ll come back with outline ideas on topic, cost and availability. If it’s a good fit, we’ll have a Zoom briefing call to shape the detail. I’ll then send a written summary of everything we’ve agreed, and your slides and companion notes follow about a week before, yours to keep, share and adapt. If you’d like, all your delegates can get complimentary access to one of my on-demand courses too.
No budget for a live session?
Can’t stretch to a live booking, or struggling to find a date that works? My on-demand CPD gives you recorded training your whole team can use, each session with slides, companion notes and a CPD certificate.
