These slides were developed for a face to face session in Gibraltar.
Here’s the session overview:
Enabling Neurodivergent Students to Thrive in the Classroom
Step into the shoes of neurodivergent students and explore simple, effective ways to make school a place where they can thrive. This session will bring their experiences to life, helping you better understand the challenges they may face and, more importantly, how you can help. We’ll explore practical, ready-to-use strategies to support learning, reduce overwhelm, and build confidence—without adding to your workload.
By the end, you’ll leave with a fresh perspective, simple strategies, and the confidence to create a more inclusive classroom right away.
Learning Outcomes:
• Understand the school experience from a neurodivergent perspective.
• Take away practical strategies to support neurodivergent learners immediately.
• Recognise links between neurodivergence, mental health, and trauma.
• Make small changes that have a big impact.
• Create a more inclusive, neuro-affirmative classroom.
If you were there, I hope these are a helpful aide-memoire. If not, I hope they make enough sense without me to be useful. If you’d like to download them, you can do so via this page on Patreon where you’ll also find supporting notes.
