What you get: What you get: a recorded CPD webinar with the PowerPoint slides, companion notes and a CPD certificate to download. Watch it straight through, or build it into staff INSET or twilight training and take as long as you like over the discussion points. You’ll get instant access to everything as soon as you buy.

Session Overview

Practical help for the move from primary to secondary, at home and at school

The move from primary to secondary is one of the biggest a child makes. For a neurodivergent young person it can be the point where everything steadying them falls away at once: the familiar building, the trusted adult, the routines that made the day workable.

This session looks at the move through the child’s eyes, and at the practical, evidence-informed things that help. It is built for home and school together, because the move goes better when both understand each other and pull in the same direction.

What you’ll learn:

  • Starting with strengths, and keeping them in view
  • Making the unfamiliar familiar before September
  • Easing the executive load, so energy goes on learning rather than remembering
  • The key audit: what to keep, replace, or let go
  • Making sure the right person is waiting for them

Who this is for:
Parents, carers, teachers, teaching assistants and SENCOs supporting a neurodivergent child through the move to secondary school.

  • 45 minute video session
