These slides were developed for a head teacher’s conference in Cornwall in Spring 2024.
Here’s the session overview:
Supportive Strategies: Navigating Student Behaviour and Anxiety
This session will focus on understanding and supporting student behaviour and anxiety within educational settings. Participants will gain skills in responding calmly, compassionately, yet proactively to challenging situations, and develop deeper insights into the root causes of behaviours that challenge. Additionally, attendees will learn to effectively identify and manage student anxiety. Designed to enrich your professional toolkit, this session offers practical strategies that can be seamlessly integrated into daily interactions with students. Our aim is to foster a more supportive and understanding environment, one that addresses immediate challenges while promoting the overall wellbeing and growth of students.
If you were there, I hope these are a helpful aide-memoire. If not, I hope they make enough sense without me to be useful. If you’d like to download them, you can do so via this page on slideshare.
